NOMAD SURFCAMP - Surf Camp, Surfaris, Scuola & AlloggioVale Figueiras Surfhouse é una típica casa di campagna portoghese nel mezzo del Parco naturale dell´ Alentejo. Ci sono poche case nella zona ed é la piú vicina alla Spiaggia di Vale Figueiras, una delle migliori beach breaks del Portogallo. Questo camp é adatto per tutti i livelli, dai principianti ai surfisti sperimentati. Gli istruttori vi accompagneranno alle spiagge con le migliori condizioni del giorno con i veicoli della scuola. Avrete a vostra disposizione tutta la settimana il materiale da surf necessario. La colazione si fa in casa. Le lezioni si danno di mattina, dopodiché un picnic nella spiaggia sotto un ombrellone e poi un´ ultima sessione di surf al pomeriggio. Di ritorno alla casa, riposo, cena e festa. Preparatevi, perché agli istruttori piace la festa! Sagres e Lagos sono i posti preferiti per uscire. Peró chi vuole puó restarsene a casa a rilassarsi , guardando la tele e riposando per il giorno seguente.

IL SURF HOUSE
La casa accoglie fino a 30 persone. C´é TV via satellite, DVD per vedere films e videos di surf, accesso a internet e una estufa a legna per passare le notti fredde d´ inverno comodamente. nel cortile c´é anche un tavolo da ping- pong, un canestro da basket una rete da volley. Biciclette a disposizione per scoprire la zona.

La colazione si fa in casa. Picnic in spiaggia a mezzogiorno e cena nella casa o in un ristorante locale. La casa possiede il suo proprio orto, forno per pane per preparare le pizze e il pane all´aglio. Gli istruttori vanno a pescare, cosicché preparatevi per delle cene saporite!

SURF SEASONS
From May till October, when the swell is small and waves gentle, the surfguides take you to the chosen beach of the day in the West coast, usually good beach breaks.
In winter from October till May, when the swells are bigger, surfaris involve more driving and much more adventure, and an entire new dimension opens up in the South Coast! Reef Break and secret spots... In this season, surfaris for beginners, intermediateand experienced surfers are much more exciting and you will be able to explore many different beaches along the entire Southern Coast from Sagres to Lagos. While the west coast can be maxing out, there is beautiful beaches on the south coast breaking perfect glassy head-high waves. e.g. Mareta, Barranco, Zavial, Ingrina, Cabanas Velhas, Rocha Negra, Burgao, Meia Praia, Furnas, Portimao etc.
SURF COURSES
In sand and white water
Before we start any exercise the instructor spends 15 minutes of theory in the sand to explain what the exercise will consist of.
At the end of each lesson there is sometime for Freesurf to practice what you have learned.
Total Beginners:
1st Day.
Morning: Introduction to waves without surfboards, introduction with the surfboard always laying down.
Afternoon: Practice balance, Timing, exercises to get up on the board in and out of the water.
2nd Day.
Morning: Review the last part of the first day.
Afternoon: Stand Up and Balance position.
3rd Day.
Morning: Review the last part of the second day.
Afternoon: Exercises of weight change from front leg to back leg, walking on board.
4th Day.
Morning: Review the last part of the third day.
Afternoon: Learn to turn left, learn to turn right.
5th Day.
Put in practice all the exercises you have learned all week.
Intermediates
Evaluation of each person to know in which level he or she has and which points to work on.
Exercises always on longboards.
Paddling, sitting on the board, Turning direction while sitting, explosive paddling, paddle to the outside, techniques to pass the waves while paddling out (Eskimo roll, etc), Catching green waves with the help of the coach pushing, timing and reading of waves to know in which direction to paddle and when to get up. Surf green waves going left, surf green waves going right. Videoanalysis.
Advanced
Evaluation of each person to know exactly which level he or she has and which points to work on.
Introduction to shortboards. Duck dives, Bottom turns, Turn on the top (re-entry), Trimming, Tides, Currents, introduction to reefs, getting in and out of the water, reading swell charts. Surfaris to secret spots.
The coach will be video recording and will correct you with an analysis at the beach and also at the surfcamp.
Surf Spots
Il Sudovest dell´ Algarve é un destino di surf senza rivali in Europa e offre un autentico ambiente surfero. La dimensione e qualitá delle onde offre un´ampia gamma di possibilitá e gli spots offrono una varietá di scogli e spiagge. Il buono della zona é che possiede condizioni di surf perfette per tutti i livelli, dai principianti agli sperimentati, e l´ondositá é costante tutto l´anno, con buone onde in tutte le stagioni. Le onde rompono sulle due coste, sud ed ovest, sempre offrendo un´ alternativa secondo la direzione dello swell. Gli spots sono contornati da una natura vergine e spettacolare, con scogli rossicci, lunghe spiagge di sabbia bianca e nessuna urbanizzazione alla vista. Tutta la zona é catalogata come parco naturale che copre tutto il sudovest dell´ Algarve. L´accesso alle spiagge é via piste di terra attraverso un paesaggio selvaggio.

LA ZONA
AlgarveLa vita nell´ Algarve non si limita al Surf e c´é una quantitá di attivitá alternative nella zona. Potrai praticare il windsurf, kitesurf, wakeboard, vela, pesca in alto mare, immersioni, mountain bike, passeggiate a cavallo e di notte godere della vita notturna di Lagos, la capitale turística dell´ Algarve. Lagos ha innumerabili bar, caffetterie, ristoranti e discoteche. Visita obbligata al Red Eye, Eddie's Bar, 3 Monkeys e musica dal vivo in Bahía Beach e Meia Praia. La vita notturna in Sagres: "Dromedario" Reggea nights e "Agua Salgada" house music. Il cibo é eccellente, economico e specializzato in pesce fresco, accompagnato da buon vino e birre portoghesi - "Sagres" non solo é il nome di una cittá turistica portoghese, ma anche di una famosa marca di birra locale !
L´ Algarve é la regione piú al sud del Portogallo, estendendosi al largo dell´ Oceano Atlantico dalla frontiera Spagnola fino al Cabo San Vicente, il punto estremo sudovest d´ Europa. Fu l´ ultimo territorio Portoghese riconquistato ai mori nel 1292 e la sua presenza é tuttora visibile nell´ architettura della regione, con le sue pittoresche case bianche che contrastano con la terra rossiccia, il verde della vegetazione e l´ azzurro del cielo. Protetto dai freddi venti del nord dalla Sierra de Monchique e orientato a pieno sud, l´ Algarve gode di un clima privilegiato tutto l´ anno e di una terra fertile, coperta da aranci, fichi e mandorli. La costa sud si estende lungo una immensa spiaggia di sabbia fina, solo interrotta da spettacolari scogli rossicci. La costa ovest é la piú selvaggia e il mare piú intrepido, con una successione di spiagge e cale solitarie, solo accessibili da piste di terra.
